...I'm tagging this as 'creating' b/c anything I might draw or doodle is drastically influenced by these sweet illustrations.. :)

two are better than one..

it's true what they say.. they in this case being Ecclesiastes 4:9..
the verse actually talks about the physical, tangible reasons -such as helping each other up when you fall, keeping each other warm, and being able to defend yourselves better b/c you are not alone...

the last part of verse 12 is the best: "a threefold cord is not quickly broken"..all of a sudden there's a jump from 'two' to 'three'... which, i believe can also represent going from the literal to the spiritual... there are still two but when they are in the Lord, they are three, and they are not quickly broken! ...how amazing!


the entire time Jeremy and I have been dating the Lord has shown me how two really are better than one! ..at the beginning i was not so sure.. i thought i was just selfish and 'needy' -afraid that loving him might take away from my loving the Lord.. oh how wrong i was! -and glad!

..truly, loving j. has enriched -rather than distracted- my relationship with Jesus. the things i have learned and gained by loving and being loved by him have pointed to and taught me more about the love of the Father than i feel like i could have ever realized on my own!
..i am thankful and overwhelmed by the goodness i know i don't deserve.

I pray that we "may have strength to comprehend.. what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that [we] may be filled with all the fullness of God" (ephesians 3:18-19, esv).

of course i was thinking of kayla when the thought first crossed my mind.. what a treasure she is!

..i'm so thankful for her little life!

(intense, isn't she.. i love that face!)

thankfully, all 'sisters' aren't actually in our family though!
..that might be overwhelming.. so glad for these ladies in my life! <3

revolutionary Love..

reading this book is definitely changing me.. i've finished reading it, but it's still happening and i know it will continue as i reflect and consider different parts and pieces of this story. i already know i must read it again to let it all sink in better.

...as far as how it's changing me, i haven't completely figured out just yet, but it's like Young says in his Acknowledgements:

"This is not a revolution that will overthrow anything, or if it does, it will do so in ways we could never contrive in advance. Instead it will be the quiet daily powers of dying and serving and loving and laughing, of simple tenderness and unseen kindness, because if anything matters, then everything matters."

..those are good changes, and i welcome them.. one little bit at a time...
