Hebrews 3:12-15

"Exhort one another every day, as long as it is called 'today,' that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin [or unbelief]."

...encouraged me this morning to say the least...

Kayla's reactions... (Mon.9.21)

When I first showed Kayla my ring, her response was, "You got married!?"

..I assured her she hadn't missed anything, but that the ring meant we were going to be married.. :)

Then I came home to this sweet note...

:)

hope you don't mind... (Sun.9.20)

(changed the picture..... this one's still blurry, but it shows the sparkle a little better :)

hope you don't mind me basking in this moment some more here in blog-land!!

took this for steph who I finally got to skype with and tell this morning!! (the camera-phone-picture doesn't do it justice, but it's still nice to be able to share...)

thoroughly enjoying these moments!!!

kayaking.. (Sat.9.19)

What a day!!!

...I never knew the first day after getting engaged could/would be so exciting!!

Not only did we get to go kayaking with our good friends Angela & Justin, we got to start calling and emailing friends and family about our engagement!!!

(somehow in all my anticipation I never imagined this part being soo enjoyable!!)

sidenote: kayaking was also on my 29 before thirty list... (#6) ...woohoo!! :) ...I may have several left undone, but I'm soo glad to get to check this one off... maybe even to make it a regular!!

Celia Rivenbark is kind of a big deal.. (Tues.9.15)

...apparently! :)

Celia held a 2 & 1/2 hour line Tuesday night at Barnes!!

She intentionally took her time and was very personable with everyone! ...very nice!

strolling for stress relief..(Mon.9.14)

long day.. a nice walk around TMC was just what I needed before meeting up with Myranda for dinner..

beach baptisms + some.. (Sun.9.13)

our friends Stacy and Joe got baptized in the ocean today..

...pretty awesome!!

We have a church picnic at the State Park every end-of-summer and I love it!

lovely day with Sister..(Sat.9.12)

we tried the pool, but it was a little too FREEZING already!!

so we hit the beach instead.. then came home and had anna sleepover... fun times!

..love that face! ♥

C.S. Lewis time..(Fri.9.11)

been enjoying some C.S. Lewis lately...

(in my favorite rocking chair outside of Barnes)

I thoroughly enjoyed The Great Divorce, an imaginary but profound allegory of Heaven & Hell and everything in between....

So now I'm onto A Grief Observed... basically Lewis' journaling after his wife died; a little heavy, but really quite wonderful!

busted..(wed.9.9)

caught some guys who have been stealing DVDs like crazy.

handcuffs and everything!

lost and found..(tues.9.8)

...my beloved "clicker" (and house keys)... slid down the sewer grate today..

thankfully I have a spare set of house keys, but I thought that was going to be it for my spoiled days of remote lock/unlocking!

However Mr. Joe came through somehow and rescued them!! ...yay!

.......noteworthy I thought ;)

Daniel and his fruit/veggie diet.. (Mon.9.7)

starting the fast with church.. (27 days ..9/7 - 10/3)

..praying for lots of things, including wisdom in choosing a 'new' building for the Vineyard.... (everybody's choosing for themselves what kind of fast is right for them)..

a form of Daniel's diet, I'm doing fruits, veggies, rice, nuts/seeds, water, & herbal tea (no, I didn't see coffee on that list either.. by far the greatest sacrifice for me..)

..just wanted to document the occasion.. I'll keep most updates in my journal, but maybe a few will leak over to publicity.. I guess we'll see..
