dolls and all.. (Sat.6.27)

American Girl Day success... yay!

I was honestly a little concerned about pulling off this event considering I started with very little knowledge of anything AG!

..but with quite a bit of help from family, friends, and some great booksellers, it all came together and the girls had a great time with their tea & scones and crafts and dolls!!

mini lunch date.. (Thurs.6.25)

..."mini" as in my friend Melanie's mini-me Saylor!

We had a great time catching up over some yummy California Pizza wraps!

(Mel used to work in the cafe' at B&N with me and moved to FL a few years ago... good times!)

Pokey's message.. (Wed.6.24)

While J. was away in Boston we had a little fun with our friends Gumby and Pokey --documenting our adventures, sending hellos from here and there, and even risking a little embarrassment to share the far-away moments! :)

Darcy and Claire were great sports to play along and make this shot happen! <3

busy healing.. (Tues.6.23)

Day after the rotator cuff surgery and Dad was picking up wood-pieces and branches to add to the burn pile.. (so the lot can be clear and ready for grass)..... can't keep the man down that's for sure!

The sling is massive and of course there's still a lot of pain & discomfort, but we're all glad he's on the healing side of the surgery!! <3

kidzone.. (Mon.6.22)

Finally took K & A to Kidzone Monday night at TMC.. It was lots of fun while it lasted!

...Kayla was extremely overtired from her water park day so we didn't stay all that long.. fun times though.. glad we went!

dad's favorite.. (Sun.6.21)

Dad in his glory on Father's Day... also the day before his shoulder surgery..

it was a great day with the fam..

(For people who make websites)... :)

(just for the record, he's 3-0 now in the Scrabble Game series... dang it! ...I must make a comeback!)

balcony view.. (Sat.6.20)

Joni & Oji at PICC.

My favorite part was when Joni pulled a tissue from her bosom to wipe the sweat from Oji's brow! ...and the ladies with their fans!! :)

It was a truly sweet wedding... beautiful service, great reception (good food & great music!), and especially great company with my TMP friends.... <3

extended family fun.. (Fri.6.19)

my cousin Johnny & his finace' Giada....

down for a visit to start planning their beach wedding for 6/2010!

...fun times on the back porch with them and the fam.. <3

(not) hiding..

as much as we might like to at times, it's impossible to hide.. especially from ourselves! ..(I don't know about you, but that's the main hiding-urge I get!)

I love going to the ocean or getting down low enough to look through blades of grass -to get the slightest feel for how small I really am in this great big world!

I just read a great post about relationships from a friend's blog... I think she summed it up quite well:

God needs to be the center of the relationship for it to make it out of all the stuff we can go through. The best thing I can do for my friends, my family, my spouse, my co-workers, all the people in my life, is to make God the center of my life, letting Him deal with me and know me from the inside out, and help me learn to grow up a little. That’s something to keep up every day.

....good words, Rachel.. glad you shared! <3

work, relax, repeat.. (Thurs.6.18)

lunch break spot at the market common... <3

good words.. (Wed.6.17)

crazy typeface... great scripture.

..found at the Cracker Barrel where I had a strange, but very interesting meeting with a man who developed a way to teach Hebrew.

......these words are underrated..... it's impossible for any of us to stick our name in place of "love" and get very far down the line..

thankfully God is not like us, He meets the standard we are incapable of attaining..<3

cloudy or not.. (Sat.6.13)

lovin the beach days lately...

I got a nice little while at the State Park Saturday before the rain came..

..pretty neat working there and meeting such accomplished individuals!

mmhmm.. (Wed.6.10)

some of the "mmm real good" we had at PF Chang's for Mom's birthday! ..yummy!!!

(credit for the "mmm real good" reference goes to Davis and one of my favorite Floyd Tribe stories! :)

...so it's actually "real good, mmmm" that Davis says.. :)

observing mommy-hood and other Tuesday night shenanigans.. (Tues.6.9)

Meggan and Sophia sorta kinda ridin the NASA shuttle! :)

from play time to bed time, it was a great night with these two!

...and then we had cake.. and decalf.. haha..

(Meggan always has the best expressions!! :)

..........what a treasure of a family, and lady, and friendship... <3

sweet summer evening.. (Mon.6.8)

technically day 1 of summer vacation locally..

..kinda weird not being a student or a teacher.. first 'summer' in 5 years that my schedule didn't drastically change at the start! ...(and I don't even mind!:)

sweet evening on the front porch with mom and dad.. and strawberries..<3

contrast.. (Sun.6.7)

out at Jeremy's .. the clouds were still looming Sunday afternoon..

(Sun Fun - sun) x2.. (Sat.6.6)

cloudy and crowded... (aka: just right!)

Jackson from Hannah Montana!!!

(we were ready with hoodies, but thankfully the rain never came!)

....Kayla and I had a great day at Sun Fun.. she rode a few slides and got a snow cone.. and we tried our first ever Fried Oreos!! (fried with that yummy funnel cake batter on them!)......oh my what a treat that was!!

Then.. J. and I met up later for the Lifehouse concert...

...ran into some Gtown friends & the Streffs (see Lilly below!), watched the fireworks, and even hung around for some B&N treats and magazine time... good times!! <3

(these are just the pictures from my phone.. maybe I'll post/replace a few with the ones from my camera when I load them up...)

rotator cuff...

Not sure exactly what a rotator cuff is or does, but Dad needs surgery to repair his! ..there are many in line ahead of him.. Please pray that he'll get in quickly and that all will go well... Thanks! <3 <3

(I'm kinda relieved it's not his heart.. his left arm has been hurting him for weeks!!)

try this at home..

from Popular Photography that Steph got me..

I'd really like to try this next time I get to play with the Sony... (and maybe before then with the Kodak.. not sure it'd turn out quite so cool though!)

words to live by.. (Wed.6.3)

Proverbs 15:1 and my daily Bible reading plan with my 5 little days bubbled in.. :)

...one of my favorite verses ever:

a gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger. (NIV)

(I remember discovering it as a first-year teacher and employing it with my angry little ones! ...amazingly true and practical principle for life!)

...So, I chose this as my photo today on purpose..........
Since January, Jeremy's been working a read-the-Bible-in-a-year plan. I've admired and appreciated his persistence and diligence to say the least!

Well, I've finally decided to join him, and I'm so glad I did!

He's been saying all along what a great difference it makes -versus reading other fantastically inspirational material- and I'm glad to agree.. it's no exaggeration. (The difference in his thinking and speaking and processing life was also convincing..)

I still want to work on my summer reading picks.. plus a few that continue to catch my eye as I stroll through bookland on a daily basis, but this is too good to miss. I'd rather miss out on reading any of them than neglect it.

eventful.. (Tues.6.2)

special story time event this morning!

Professor Yippit and Walk-About-Willie... (promoting Monday Kid Zones at TMC!) ..nice!

sweet 27.... at the roadhouse... love that sammie!

new oldies.. (Mon.6.1)

sifting through the letterpress and goodies Jeremy ordered.

bought/sold from an old estate sale.. got some great pictures with Jeremy's camera.. I'll have to add those another time :)

..can't wait to see the fine work this machine can make!

2-0.. (Sun.5.31)

yes, he beat me again..

Even though I closed the gap quite considerably, he's still got two wins on me!

(this time I was only 8 points behind though.... that's kind of a big deal, considering I was 159 points off last time!)

...Thankfully, I think I could get beat every time and still enjoy playing... that must be the sign of a truly great game....

Shannon, I want to hear more of this Speed Scrabble... sounds fun! -although I'll probably be worse considering speed is not my strong point! ;)

pajamas at work.. for real! (Sat.5.30)

The Llama Llama Red Pajama party at B&N.

What fun those kiddos were.

One (more) very cool thing about this job is getting to work with different groups of kids/people all the time! (another welcome change from teaching!:)

...I kinda love the community-aspect! <3
