...and my sunday work-days begin...

this was actually a cool opportunity to have all the B&N staff in the same place at the same time.

i'm really thankful for this job & the community here.

i'm praying about my holiday schedule.. that somehow i will enjoy it and not resent the fact that i have to work every day in December but 1 saturday, four wednesdays, and a friday (Christmas)! ...(i know it'll be fine; just different than i'm used to!!)

judging business projects..(Thurs.11.19)

thoroughly enjoyed judging the senior class business projects at SHS this morning!

this young man stood out among the rest.

his project was a car-detailing business

and this was one of his visuals!!

....impressive to say the least.

on another note, I met three teenage-moms in the short amount of time I was there.

this struck a cord in me that I don't want to forget about.

I want to be part of the solution for these kinds of issues..

more and more our world is needing healthy, qualified mentors

not to mention foster and adopting parents!

(I've been praying a lot about where & how God can/will use me in these areas!)

pumpkin cookies..(Wed.11.11)

first pumpkin treat of the season for me..

(Jeremy came over for lunch, so I had good reason to indulge.. :)

here's the recipe for these yummy Cookies...

Ingredients:

COOKIES..

1 medium egg.

2 cups of flour.

1 cup of butter.

1 cup of sugar.

1 cup of pumpkin.

1 teaspoon of baking powder.

1 teaspoon of soda.

1 teaspoon of cinnamon.

1 teaspoon of vanilla.

1/2 teaspoon of salt.

ICING..

1 cup of powdered sugar.

1/2 cup of brown sugar.

4 tablespoons of milk.

3 tablespoons of butter.

3/4 teaspoon of vanilla.

Preparation:

COOKIES..

Cream the sugar and the butter.

Add the pumpkin and the egg.

Add the dry ingredients.

Bake at 350F for about ten minutes.

ICING..

Combine the butter, the milk and the brown sugar.

Boil for three minutes minutes. Allow to cool.

Stir in the sugar and the vanilla.

Apply icing to the cookies.
