sweet little jewel i found on our Christmas table at B&N today...
Advent(from the Latin word adventus meaning "coming") is a season observed in many Western Christian churches, a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas.
i sat for a few minutes and took in the first chapter...
the theme was pretty simple and very profound i thought:
as believers, weary of the hype/commercialized season,
we should seek to celebrate the coming of Christ by
cafe-line at b&n.. the norm for the whole 8 hrs. i was there!
first 'black friday' i've worked in years.......
wow. what a rush!
the economy may be in rough shape, but that sure didn't stop these crazy shoppers!
i may not have succeeded just yet, but i'm determined to embrace the work-schedule and enjoy the season..
maybe the secret is not to see how much joy i can squeeze from the season, but to take/make opportunities to make it enjoyable for others! (wow. why didn't i think of this sooner!? i'm pretty sure that's the answer to my holiday dilemma!!)
